An excellent and timely article, thank you. If Kemi Badenoch is representative of this trend, then I, for one, welcome our new Yoruba overlords.

Right wing parties dominated by uber-successful non-whites is an unintended consequence of mass immigration I think most didn't see coming, but entirely predictable, as you point out. The left hasn't seemed to clock that the main long-term effect of pushing Diversity and Inclusion is the ascension of a subset of elite non-whites, in many cases literal Brahmins. (The blindspot is probably caused by willful misunderstanding of how IQ affects life outcomes, as well as a general belief that non-white must equal 'poor' in some way).

".... many of my ancestors arrived on longships, and Iā€™m pretty sure they would fail the Home Office interview". Same old false analogy. Your ancestors did not emigrate to this country, they invaded and plundered it. The Saxons fought them tooth-and-nail with mixed results. The Danes ended up running the place. They didn't come here to open Viking restaurants.

Now, the indigenous British can not only not fight back, they can't even open their mouths to object. They have been cowed into grudging silence by an oppressive state regime and decades of gaslighting. This is why it is so dishonest for you to claim that immigration has lost its salience. Not, it hasn't. Our rulers have simply made it clear that they will brook no discussion of the issue.

The "new" Vikings and Normans from Africa and the Middle East are in the process of taking over our country now - a process that is being facilitated and encouraged by every institution that we once relied upon to protect us. In a sense, the British have been conquered by our own managerial and political classes. It won't be long now until the native British are reduced, at least informally, to the status of second-class citizens whose only utility lies in paying the Danegeld to our new rulers.

You're correct when you say that the big issues now are identity not economics and that fact that the Tories are spearheading the new "woke" politics means they are now, well and truly, a party of post-modern left. The system has been rigged to deny the British any opportunity to vote against it or even organise in their own interests. This is not a democracy or anything like a democracy. It is a feudal state under foreign occupation.

I take great pleasure in the purplexed replies in whatsapp groups with liberal friends when I highlight the diversity of the tory party leadership.

I can't help but be impressed by the diversity of the candidates jockeying to be the next PM. It's not just the ability to rub the noses of Labour, whose high bench is far whiter (as Suzanne Moore grudgingly admitted) but it rejects the progressives' attitude that so many of the classic liberal beliefs are only institutionally racist and oppressive and that progressives are automatically owed the fealty of non-whites (one of the strangest attitudes, especially given how distinctly non-progressive most of the non-white world is). To show that these common beliefs we once took for granted can and do transcend race and culture is becoming more and more important to their survival for the future, especially as (at least in the United States) so many of the descendants of the creators of and bearers of liberal democracy are becoming strongly woke.

A big recent trend in the US is the large movement of Hispanic voters, the biggest minority group, towards the Republican party and how it's causing panic among the Democrats. The reasons the newly Republican Hispanics give is that they strongly embrace the concept of the United States as a hardworking, free market capitalism, liberal (classical) society, a land of opportunity, law and order, and where everyone is equal under the law - which brought them and their parents to the US, while at the same time the descendants of the people who founded the US have marched increasingly leftward and openly disclaim their heritage as institutionally racist and oppressive and supportive of distinctly unequal DEI programs. While institutions like Harvard are fully in the throes of wokery and where most faculty and students would describe the US Constitution as racist, predominately Hispanic, predominately working class districts in Texas and elsewhere are proudly flying the American flag and openly talking of the American dream.

The American story is different from the British story. But it is still a good feeling to make the New York Times unhappy that the world refuses to comply with its preconceived notions for how things should be.

Deleted the tweet. Should have deleted himself, the tiresome Narcissist that he is.

"Market-dominant minorities, in Chuaā€™s analysis, are ethnic groups involved in trade who come to enjoy disproportionate wealth, and often dominance in areas like education and property ā€” and as a result historically suffer persecution."

The classic example from my lifetime is the expulsion of the Asian merchant class from Uganda in the 70s. Many just came here, and did it all over again. I lived in Easton, Central Bristol, for many years - there was (still is) an Indian shop there, Eastern Food Market, which has gone from strength to strength - the family were booted out with nothing. Have bought up many other shops, opening sub units. For a while they had the most glorious take away, food cooked on the spot by all the grannies. When we visited friends elsewhere, we were always implored to come with as much of their food as we could,

It's funny how the ethnic minority folks at my office, who bang on about how bad things are in this country, and on the importance of 'representation', etc. don't seem to be particularly inspired by ethnic minority representation in the Tory ranks.

Kemi, Priti, Rishi, etc. are clearly not the right type of ethnic minority, it would seem...

"Of the 15 Asian Tory MPs elected at the last election, five are of Ugandan or Kenyan origin, including Priti Patel, Rishi Sunak and Suella Braverman, the latter considered the torchbearer of the Right in this weekā€™s contest."

Absolutely fascinating.
